It's official.
"As the only candidate in the contest, Mr. Ignatieff’s Leadership will be officially confirmed by the assembled delegates at the Leadership and Biennial Convention to be held in Vancouver, British Columbia from April 30 – May 2, 2009."
So, no input from anyone else, no voting by the grassroots delegates, no opposition to Mr. Ignatieff's free ride to the top of the Party.
Not exactly democracy as far as I'm concerned.

What a silly post.
Of course its democracy.
Anyone had the opportunity to run against Iggy. No one chose to who.
He has won, fair and square.
Yeah, really.
If you're so hot over this then run for the leadership yourself.
You've clearly got what it takes to take on Ignatieff.
You haven't even considered the strange times for the Liberals.
Ignatieff was way ahead anyway and it saves money, etc.
The Libs did so poorly in the last election and did poorly (under Dion) in donations.
You have to deal with the cards that you are dealt.
Grow up.
Democracy - when Harper is rolling in dough and money buys elections?
Sad day for the LPC.
Eugene Forsey - uh, huh - daily rants about Ignatieff that have become and absolute bore.
I wish David Orchard would have run against Iggy.
It is sad to see how many comments here are so cavalier about the trampling of democracy that has occured here. We got a leader who never had to attend a single debate and explain his positions - now he is announcing them and they are identical to Harper's. People who support this should be ashamed. Especially the Anonymous ones.
we've been suckered in again! For who exactly? Someone who's taking his cues from Paul Martin??
Nuts to this! I'll be parking my vote with Harper this time. Sorry, but at least he's a hockey dad.
OH NO! I WAS ALL READY TO THROW MY SUPPORT BEHIND YOU. I THOUGHT FOR SURE YOU'D CHALLENGE!
Sheesh. Never hears such silly tripe from so many "anon" commenters.
I hear you Liz.
That's "heard" not hears.
