Shocker: Newman Retiring!

Don Newman of the Politics show on CBC Newsworld is retiring. He's decided to take a retirement package & what happens to the show after that is an unknown at this point.

I, for one, will miss him. He's been on CBC for what feels like a lifetime to me. Good luck, Mr. Newman, in any other ventures you may decide to pursue & Happy Retirement!

I will miss him too. He has been on for a long time. I wonder who will take his place? I liked his POLITICS every night at five.

I just saw this on Newsworld! I'll miss him, too!

Too bad - he's a walking library of political history and tidbits.

Perhaps Susan Bonner - she's intelligent and feisty.

Does anyone know when he is retiring? He's a great asset to broadcasting!

SD,
Apparently he's retiring in June, at the end of the season.

Sandi, I, too, think Bonner is feisty & would be a good replacement. She's not as laid back as Newman. I liked his being low-key but also liked the change when Bonner was hosting.

Am hoping he will come back & do some free-lancing during the next election.
