Audit Finds DND projects lack oversight

The audit was commissioned by the Defence Dept.

The report from the department's Chief of Review Services was originally to examine a multimillion-dollar program to purchase chemical, biological and nuclear defence equipment and warning devices, but the comments were on the overall state of management oversight on equipment programs.

To deal with the shortages [personnel], the Defence Department is using private consultants as deputy project managers, but they do not have the authority to make decisions, according the CRS report.

Some things never seem to change with this Conservative govt. There are billions of dollars involved. And this in a time of economic crisis. Gah!
